I am four years old and, so far, an only child, but I am not spoiled. I think. Mommy tells me that I am lucky because I have many people who love me both on the West Coast and the East Coast.

I like getting presents

Today I turn 16 months old. In other words, I am 1 1/3 years old. Since Auntie Elsie got gifts for her 32 1/2 birthday, Mommy thought it was time I got some new toys. Sooooo, I got a new ball. It is one of those nice bouncy ones like Mommy used for foursquare or dodgeball when she was a kid except it is yellow instead of red. I love it! I throw it all over the place outside. It is pretty cool. Then Mommy saw a kid-sized broom and bought that. I get so frustrated trying to use the broom Mommy does because it is heavy and too big for me to effectively use, you know? The only problem is that Daddy stepped on the handle so it is permanently dented, but I can still use it. The last toy she got me was a MegaBlocks wagon with 50 MegaBlocks in the back. I can even fit in the wagon, so Mommy gave me a ride. Woo-hoo!

I also showed Mom and Dad that I can shake my head no. And I know where the garbage can is even if the cabinet door has child-proof locks.

Mommy took me to the Sacramento County Fair. I went on the pony ride! That was fun. A lot of people were saying "Look at the baby on the pony!" I am quite cute! Then we went to see the farm animals. There was a teenage girl in the pen with her pigs! She was using one pig as a pillow, and I thought that was hilarious! She thought I was quite handsome, so we flirted for a while. The goats were clamoring for my attention. I thought the pygmy goats were cute. The cows were kinda boring even though Mom told me that is where I get milk from. I thought Mommy was where I get milk from! We saw lots of rides and food booths and people. Then I was so tired I started to cry. I cried all the way to the car and fell asleep once the car started. We went back to the fair the next day with Daddy, but we did not do anything. Very boring. Mommy wanted to go on a picnic, but we did not have time. We took a nap (well, I took a nap--Grandma called so Mommy woke up.) and played some more with my new toys. I also found a stick and hit my doggie with it which made Mommy mad. She took it away from me which made ME mad! So she turned on the hose and we watered the rose bushes and then I watered the dog. Poor Da-ders! Mommy turned off the hose. I tried to get Dad to pay attention to my antics but he was not paying attention at all--except a quick smile when I put on his baseball cap. That was it. Oh well.

I can say my dog's name....sorta

Well, Dad went away for an overnight, and Mom picked me up from daycare. Then we were playing outside while Snickers was running around too. We decided to play hide and seek, so we hid around the fireplace and called Snickers over. He kissed me and then ran away. I thought that was funny, so I tried calling him back over. Mommy thought I was saying "Dada" since Daddy is away, but she finally got it that I was saying "Snickers" even though it sounded just like Da-ders to her. So I said "Da-ders" and she said "Snickers", and he came bounding over to us again. I love Da-ders.

I can wave bye-bye

I started waving bye-bye on Thursday. Mommy saw it for the first time on Friday. She was really excited about that. I also said "All done" and "Yes" for the first time, but in true Conor fashion, I only said them once. I think I have another tooth coming in. Daddy said he thought I got all my teeth already, and Mommy said maybe I am getting teeth all the way down my esophagus or something but I was feverish, drooly, and sticking my fist in my mouth. It was cool and raining all weekend. That was a bummer. I wanted to go outside, and I let Mom know in no uncertain terms that I wanted to go outside, but she said no since I was feverish. Even the dog was like "Dude, stay inside." Mommy took me shopping instead. We got more special milk, and she even bought a Jamba Juice for us to share, but I did not like it. Mommy wanted to take me swimming since my new swimsuit arrived in the mail (it is very cute-it is protective sunwear and is blue and has fishies on it. It has a tee-shirt and pants that go halfway down my calves. It has a fishie on the drawstring and I like playing with that when I am not throwing it around the room because it is cold and rainy and inappropriate weather for swimming unless you are a duck!)

I like it at Marine's house

I cried for just a minute after Daddy left me at Marine's house. Then I played really hard. I ate a good lunch (chicken nuggets, green beans, strawberries), and I napped at 2:00. At 6:20, Mommy showed up but I did not see her right away. When I did see her standing there watching me, I laughed and clapped my hands! Then I ran to her and hugged her. Marine said that I did the best she has ever seen a kid do at a new place.

Special Milk-Yum!

I forgot to mention that Auntie Steph kept telling Mommy to buy this special milk stuff that Cousin D drinks. Mommy finally found it in a store. When we got home, she poured some in a glass and tried it. She liked it, and I got a taste. Well, I grabbed that glass and wanted more! So she put the special milk in my sippie cup with some regular milk (because it is expensive stuff!), and I drank it all gone!

Today I start a new daycare

Today is my first day at Marine's house. I'll let you know how it goes.

This weekend was a big weekend. I have decided that I want to feed myself! So I fed myself some applesauce. Mommy tried to put out pieces of watermelon, but they were unappealing until Mommy gave me a fork to eat them with! Yum! And I have decided that I want to use my booster seat in a real chair. The high chair is for babies, and I am a big boy who feeds himself! For Mother's Day, Daddy had taken me to JCPenney a few weeks back and had my portrait taken. He bought me new clothes that were a size too large, but what the heck, right? Since they will not be ready until the 23rd, Dad wrapped the photo order sheet. Then we went to Folsom Lake State Park. Aunt Teresa, Uncle Chris, Emma and Ian came too, although a little bit later. We had sandwiches and chips and hummus and I drank some of Daddy's soda while he was not looking. I went swimming in the lake. That was fun splashing and stuff. Then I tripped and my head went under the water, but I didn't mind. Daddy pulled me up really fast, but it was okay. I had so much fun that Mommy is thinking of taking me to the American River this Saturday (we are going to Great Aunt Regina's house on Sunday for dinner. I like seeing her but Mommy hates the 4 hour round trip.)

Mommy says she is going to take me on a petsitting job after she picks me up at Marine's house. I like those doggies although the girl doggie makes lots of noise barking!

Big boy

I went for a big boy walk yesterday. What is that, you might ask? It is where I actually walk like Mommy does instead of riding in the stroller. We only went around the block, but I liked it! We did take a walk to RiteAid earlier in the day with me in the stroller. They had sippie cups on sale. Mommy got 2 for me because they will be my daycare cups--one for milk and one for water. I also did something cute. I picked up Mommy's cell phone, put it to my ear, and said "Hello? Daddy?" because he was at work and I wanted to call him.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Yesterday, (the Quatro de Mayo) Mommy got a call about a job in NY. She told the man she is still waiting to hear about my Daddy getting a job here. (he goes on another interview today) I also visited another daycare. There are a lot of kids there at Marine's house--way more than at Karen's! I decided I would hang out and play. There are lots of toys inside the house and lots outside the house. Mommy said I looked comfortable and the place seems nice, so Mommy and Daddy signed me up. I start there on the 15th. Mommy said that we could always change daycares if it seems like I don't like it or Mommy or Daddy see something they do not like. But I really hate saying goodbye to my Mommy--even if I am hanging out with Daddy. I cry, and she told Daddy she cries in the car to work too sometimes. Thank goodness it is Friday today. I am going to play with Melissa and Terra again while Daddy goes on the interview. Mommy said something about maybe going out for dinner. She is tired, and she wants to be with her favorite boy--me!

Busy weekend

On Saturday, Mommy and I did the March of Dimes walk. Mommy walked 6 miles. I fussed so much that I got to walk a block, but then she put me back in the stroller. We had signs attached that said we were walking for my cousin Andy, and lots of people read it. I did take a brief nap for the last 2 miles, and Mommy said a lot of people with cameras asked her to stop so they could take my picture. Mommy tried to find us on the news, but she couldn't.

On Sunday, we went to the Scottish Games in Woodland with Daddy, Grandpa, and my doggie. I napped only briefly in the car to Mom's chagrin. We looked at some of the vendors and watched the Wicked Tinkers. Then we walked in the clan march and spent some time in the Anderson tent hanging with Stan and Betty. I fell asleep in the stroller while waiting for the dog show. Mom was annoyed because we were there early to watch the show and people stood right in front of her. I woke up from all the noise of "those idiots" (not the bagpipes nor drums) which really pissed Mommy off. So we went over to the Clan Gregor tent and hung out with my friends Chris and Jeff. I was so tired at the end of the day from not sleeping that we just dropped off Grandpa at his house instead of hanging out. Then Mommy had a brilliant idea. I was dirty from running around all day, and I was hungry. So Mom got me inside the house, told Dad to draw a bath, and stripped me down. Then she fed me while I was IN THE BATHTUB. That way I got and stayed clean while filling my tummy! (Mommy is brilliant!) But then she put pajamas on me and put me to bed (which I did not want to do despite rubbing my eyes so hard she was afraid that I would poke them out!). Oh well. Maybe I will nap well tomorrow while Mommy is at work. I hate it when Mommy goes to work. I want her to hang out with me all day, and she wants to hang with me too! We make a good team!
