I am four years old and, so far, an only child, but I am not spoiled. I think. Mommy tells me that I am lucky because I have many people who love me both on the West Coast and the East Coast.

I love my Mica

Mica went to kitty heaven. She will be missed. She taught me how to pet a kitty. She was really gentle with me until I went too far and then she would swat me with her claws. She used to walk down the street after me and Mom and Snickers. She liked to hide behind a bush in the backyard, but I would find her!! Mommy and Daddy are very sad.

my kitty is really sick

My Mica is really sick. Daddy finally found her Saturday night under Mommy's dresser. We took her to the hospital. She is in serious liver trouble. She has to wear one of those collars and she has an IV, and we visit her every day. She seems happy to see us--even me! I pet her and say "Hi kitty!" Yesterday, we went on a walk to the donut shop. Then we played some and then I took a nap. I did not eat much for lunch. Daddy wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese, but we went to Toys R Us instead. He bought me a basketball. Then we ate at Fresh Choice. I did reallllly well with my fork. Mom and Dad were impressed, and I ate a lot of mac and cheese with meatballs. Then we went to Grandpa's house for a while. I played with the pool table balls and stuff. Then we visited Mica, and then we went home. I went to bed with my ball on one side of me and my sippiecup on the other. Good day. Just wish Mica could come home.

I'm getting a new cousin!!

Aunt Carolyn told Mommy last night that she is going to have a baby at the end of May which means I will have another cousin! Yea!!

Last night, Mommy took me to the park. There was a Russian family with 7 kids there. I liked playing with them. Then there was another family with 3 boys. The older one had a kite (there were very big winds all day yesterday--up to 50 mph), so we all sat down to watch for a while. Then I decided to play on the gym some more. One of the 3 boys I think is autistic. He was whirling around chanting some weird thing and spraying water out of a bottle. It was interesting to watch so one of the Russian boys and I sat down for a while. I liked all of the slides. It was starting to get dark and I have had a runny nose for 2 days so Mommy took me home even though I wanted to stay.

This morning I woke up and I have a croupy cough. Mom had to work, so we woke Daddy up. She also told him about how Mica slept on her bed all day and all night last night which is not like my Mica! Snickers found some puke yesterday in the yard, so Mom wonders if somebody poisoned some food and she ate it. Daddy made an appointment for her to see the vet, but she is either hiding or ran outside when Dad wasn't looking. We were supposed to go to the Scottish Games in Dixon today, but maybe we won't. I hope Mica is okay. She is too young to die even though she is twice as old as me.

I love my doggy

Regular readers of this blog know that I love my dog. I have been giving him lots of hugs lately. I still hate it when he takes my bread or cheese out of my hand when I am not offering him any though. I have been getting a lot of time outs lately. Mostly for throwing things or hitting somebody (Mommy, Snickers, Mica). I have also been spending a lot of time awake at night. I used to go down so quietly. Not anymore. Poor Mom is going to eat away her stomach lining with all the coffee she drinks. One month until Mommy and I are in NY with Grandma and Grandpa. Mommy keeps giving me kisses all over to prepare me for when they do it. I had a lot more to write but I am forgetting it. Um, Hi, Auntie Steph!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Donovan!

Hey everyone...did I tell you I got a new toothbrush recently? Mommy bought me a battery operated one like hers only mine is Tigger. Then she was using this string in her teeth, and I decided I needed to do that too. It is pretty cool.

I got new shoes and socks and warmer clothes and stuff. Mom took me to the American River on Monday to go swimming. After walking around and splashing a while, I decided picking up various size rocks and throwing them back into the water was cool. Mommy did too.

I like bellybuttons. They are funny. Mommy pokes mine and then I poke hers and blow raspberries on her tummy. I can also do "So Big" finally.

I am still fascinated by my board book of "This Old Man". There is a dog on every page and I like finding him. There is also a page where there are 3 puppies and one with 4 kittens. I like finding the page with the kittens and saying "Dere kitties!"

Pizza? Nah, I am full. Get me milk!

Last night, Mommy and I went to a PWP meeting at Round Table Pizza. I was already full from eating at Marine's (although I did have a few bites of pizza), but I really was thirsty. So Mommy bought me milk. A girl named Hannah had her hand held video game, and I wanted to play with it. But I mostly charmed everyone with my cute smile and my ability to do things like climb up and over the high chair. There was one boy who was kinda near my age, but he did not want to play.

I got mad! And then I got scared....

Mom was sitting on the couch in her robe. I had just finished my piece of bread that I was munching. Mommy went to take a sip of her coffee, and I hit the cup on purpose just because. Coffee splashed all over Mommy. She said "No! Hot! Dang it!" and moved the cup. Well, I decided to hit the cup harder. She said "No, Conor! Hot!" and tried to move it even though she was in pain from the hot coffee that spilled on her bare skin. But she was not quick enough as I hit it a third time. This time she said very loudly as she stood up, not caring where the coffee spilled because it was already all over the place, "No, no Conor! Hot! Ow, ow, owwww!!" That scared me so I started to cry hysterically. I wanted Mommy to pick me up and comfort me, but I had to wait until she got a paper towel and wiped herself off. Mommy forgave me which I appreciate. I also saw a boo-boo on her foot. I, being in a band-aid phase, got one and put it on her foot. Am I a helpful guy or what? Maybe I will be a doctor like my uncle Brian. Or a nurse like Auntie Steph!

I can say a new word

Mommy bought some apples last night while we were doing our whirlwind tour of Albertsons. She grabbed one this morning to have with her lunch, and I saw them and wanted one. So I pointed, and she asked did I want an apple? I nodded, so she gave me one. I hung onto it, and I said apple. Although it sounded to Mommy like ball-ball. Still, she knew what I was referring to, and I took the apple with me to Marine's and probably will get it with my lunch since I had waffles and pear for breakfast.

Not much new

Well, I have another diaper rash. I spent 6 hours without a diaper on Sunday. It sucks. I took a tour of that Montessori school yesterday. It was pretty cool. It took me a while to kinda warm up to the place. There were so many kids my age running around and doing stuff. I did not really want to leave, but I needed to take a nap. Since the school closes at 6, Mommy will have to figure out a way to have me taken care of from 6 to 6:30 or I can't go. The director told Mommy about this other school that does close at 6:30, so we have an appointment to tour there next Monday.

Mommy went to a healing arts fair, and she was told that I am going to be much taller than anyone thinks I will--approaching 6 feet even though Dad and Grandpa H are 5'4". I am also going to be really hairy like Daddy but I will keep the blond hair. She also said I will be really into cars.

We went to Chuck E Cheese yesterday. I had lots of fun with the basketball hoops. It was cool since it was not too crowded. Snickers was bored though. We ate dinner at Gordito Burrito, and I went to bed early since I had a short nap.

bumps, bruises, and maybe a new school?

Since Daddy has a weird schedule this weekend, he did not come home Thursday night. Mommy did not know that until Wednesday night. Anyway, that meant I was at Marine's on Friday. My buddy Isaac pushed me when I was getting ready to go down the slide, so now I have some nice bumps/scrapes above and below my left eye. I got lots of sympathy from Marine who took me on a private walk. Since Mommy gets out early on Fridays, she decided to take me to the park with Snickers after we got home. Poor Snickers was the only dog that was on a leash. I ran around and around going on the slide. Mommy sat next to me and we held hands going down the side-by-side small slides. I decided to go on the big curvy around slide. I was surprised how fast I went down the first time. The second time, I tripped going up the stairs. I have a big fat bruise on my chin AND I bit my tongue so it was bleeding pretty profusely. Mommy climbed up there so lightening fast like a monkey! I cried and cried and cried and she hugged me lots and gave me lots of kisses and made sure the blood was from my tongue and I did not loosen any teeth.

On Monday, Mommy made an appointment for the 3 of us (me, Mommy, and Daddy) to tour a Montessori preschool downtown. They have an organic garden that the kids grow, and the chef cooks all the meals from it. They have yoga classes and other cool things. We'll see if I like it. And if they like me.

There is an all you can eat spaghetti dinner going on next door to Mommy's work tonight, but Daddy said he might not want to go.

Mommy is wondering why the Florida State football game hasn't started online. They beat Miami 13-10 the other day. Ha ha. Mommy's cousin's son Daniel goes there to med school.

How was your weekend?

Dad took me to the State Fair on Friday. Since Mom was not there, she isn't going to type in what happened. On Sunday, we all went to Pleasanton for the Scottish Games. We got a late start. Dad needed gas, so we stopped at a place that had a Carl's Jr and a big playground. We ate there, and I played a bit. Then we went on to the games. I liked dancing to the music, and I enjoyed seeing Stan and Betty at the Anderson tent. They said I was getting so big! I bonked my head while running around when Daddy was trying to listen to Alex Beaton. Mommy decided it was a good time for ice cream. Yummy! I shared with Mommy and Daddy. I was not feeling so good, so we decided to leave at 4:30 instead of 5. Since I had about 1/2 hour nap in the car on the way down, I fell asleep immediately in Mom's car. So Dad put Snickers in Mommy's car and we went our separate ways instead of having dinner together. I was fine on 680, but the full blast of the sun was in my face when we got onto 80. So Mom stopped for dinner, but I wasn't in the mood. We got the food to go, and she powered home. I had her hold my hand the last 25 miles or so. No mean feat that is, but I needed the reassurance and she gave it to me. On Monday, we just goofed around and then I took a long nap. Then we went to the state fair. I loved the petting zoo. I liked the kangaroos, the baby goats, the potbellied pig, and more! I had more fun looking at people and having them look at me rather than look at the exhibits. Mom said she should have had a hat to pass around since so many people were watching my antics. I saw a sign that said "Camp Smokey" I pointed to every letter and Mom would say which one it was. When she asked me which one was a letter in my name, I pointed to the "C". Mom noticed it hurt me when I swallowed and she was thirsty, so she bought me a large Orange Julius. I know she said she bought it for us to share, but I liked it too much. I did let her have some though. I got so dirty that I got a bath after we got home. I liked being on my belly and kicking my legs. I think Mom is going to look for swimming lessons for me.

Will it ever end?

I am finally over my croup and all that. Mom and I had a blast the night before last. Mom had to use the hose on this one section of lawn because the grass is dying. So I stepped in front of the hose, and I love that! So she would get me with the hose, I would shriek and laugh and run or crawl away. Mom would re-direct the hose. I would keep running until I thought I was safe and then I would run back toward Mom. When I got a certain distance, then she would spray me again. Whee! I was soaked through and through. Mom got me inside, toweled me off, and then put me in my pajamas. Then it was the boob and my lullaby CD until I was very sleepy and put down in my crib. Great ending to the day.

But...this morning, Mom was changing my diaper and she saw blood at the tip of my penis. Of course, she freaked out. I was calm. She had Snickers get Daddy, and she went off to call the advice nurse. Daddy got me an appointment with my doctor, and he found out that uncircumcized boys like me have special issues. Our foreskin is completely attached and gradually detaches until we are like 4 or 5 years old. What Mom saw was a small blood vessel burst when some detaching was going on. Poor Mommy! She needs a margarita...
