I am four years old and, so far, an only child, but I am not spoiled. I think. Mommy tells me that I am lucky because I have many people who love me both on the West Coast and the East Coast.

Finally getting better

I am finally getting better. Mom took me to the doctor on Monday night to check out my ears since I was still acting out of it. No ear infection! Marine said I was cranky yesterday and wouldn't drink milk all day. Well, when I got home, I drank milk like crazy. Don't ask me why. I also sang a little bit and ran around and smiled with my beloved Da-ders in the backyard. Mommy was happy because it meant her little guy was definitely getting better. We were giggling a lot! Thanks to the days getting shorter and what-not, I am sleeping in a little more in the am. Mommy got to make coffee, empty the dishwasher, and put on her make-up before I made a peep. Wanna hear something weird? I call Mommy "Am-ma" ("am" as in "I am" and then "ma") a lot and then sometimes I will say "Mom" but not "Mommy". I wanted to play with her phone this morning in the car, so she let me. I took a picture of my foot! I laughed so hard when Mommy said "Conor? What are you taking a picture of? Don't delete my phone book!"

I am SICK!

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I got sick. Marine called Mommy and left a message on her cell phone while she and Daddy were in court to say that I had a 102 fever. So Daddy came and picked me up while Mommy went to work. Daddy said that I just had a fever but that was wrong. I had a croupy cough. So Mommy called in for Thursday and spent the day with me. She gave me Motrin and lots of fluids (Vitamin Water I like that) and I did not eat well. Daddy came home as usual late that night. At 3 am, I woke up and tried to cry but could barely croak. Mommy heard me because she was awake anyway thinking about things, and she got really scared when she saw me. I looked like I had a sunburn, I felt like I had a sunburn, and yet I was shivering. My temp was over 103. I had difficulty breathing. Mommy called the advice nurse, and the nurse told Mom to tell Dad to get the shower going. After 25 minutes of sitting in the steamy bathroom, my breathing wasn't much better. So we tried the freezer thing where Mommy held me up to the cold air for me to breath in. Not much luck there either. My fever was going down because they gave me medicine. Mom had Dad prop up my mattress on one side. She lay down on the floor so she could hear me breathe and put on the humidifier. After a while, I just wanted her to hold me, so we went to the couch and I fell asleep with her boob in my mouth. Mommy had to go to a half-day training, so she did although she and I were miserable about it. We all went to the doctor that afternoon. Dr W. put me on prednisone for 3 days. I may have the beginning of an ear infection too. My fever finally broke Saturday night. I was really cranky all day Sunday, so maybe I do have an ear infection after all. Mommy took me to Marine's this morning even though I seem kinda out of it and asked her to keep an eye on me because she might take me to the evening clinic if I do not get better. Wah.

Mommy and Daddy and court

Mommy and Daddy went to court today to see a judge regarding custody of me. Daddy gets me Thursday night to Saturday night and then during the day every other Monday. Essentially he can be with me on his days off. Mommy gets me the rest of the time. Daddy has to get a monitor so he can be notified with a flashing light that I am crying in the middle of the night. Mommy hates the thought of ever being without me, but she has figured out the best thing she can do to make the most of the situation is doing any housecleaning when I am gone and any errands like grocery shopping, hair cut, etc. Maybe even going to the gym!

It is no wonder that with all the stress in the house that I got sick. More in my next post.

I have blue feet and Happy Birthday Grandma!

Yes, you read that correctly. I got a pair of hand-me-down blue Bobux from cousin Alex. Mom decided to put them on while I had naked butt time outside to help my diaper rash (again). Well, I decided to play with the hose which got the Bobux wet. When Mommy peeled them off my feet later, my feet were blue. She laughed really hard and showed me my feet. I laughed too--especially when Mommy tickled my feet!

I saw some birds this morning and said Bird! I ate 2 bananas and got my arm stuck in the chair and played with my new ball that Mommy bought at Albertson's last night. What a busy morning. I got French toast and grapes for breakfast at Marine's--yum.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

I can say....

Bird and this (which sounds like "dis" but it is actually this)

I think screaming at the top of my lungs is an effective measure to show everybody that Mommy is not doing what I want her to do. I wanted my Playdoh (which was still in the car from the time I wanted to bring them in the car) that I saw as Mommy was taking me out of my carseat to go to Marine's. Luckily for Mommy, the kids were playing with Playdoh, so I calmed down immediately and got to work. I also gave myself a timeout after Mommy said if I did not stop pulling the dog's hair, she would give me one. I don't know why I was pulling his hair--it just seemed like the thing to do.

Grandma and Aunt Peg left for NY. Mommy is sad but she knows we will see them in October. Also, Mommy doesn't know that I know this, but a little birdie told me that Aunt Lisa and Uncle Patch have a timeshare week in Orlando, FL, in April. She invited Mommy and me, Grandma and Grandpa, and Aunt Carolyn, Uncle Brian, and Andy. I am going to Disney World! And I haven't even won the Super Bowl--yet! Yeah baby!! Mommy told Aunt Lisa that she is going to start saving her pennies. (and dimes, and quarters, etc)

Grandma is awesome part 2

So, Mom got me into bed at Regina's house because it was late (I had fallen asleep in the car as Mommy planned. At first I was cranky, but Grandma got me laughing.).
I got to take lots of walks. We walked Regina's horse WindDancer to another field. We saw deer, llamas, more horses, wild turkeys....I got to throw pears and apples for the deer. That was fun! I sat on the swing under the big tree with Mommy, I sat on the dock and looked at the pond with Mommy, I picked blackberries with Mommy, Regina, and Grandma for the pie we ate later, we did lots of things. I got a timeout for standing on the chair when Mommy told me to sit on my butt, but that was okay. I did not want to nap at all! I finally did for a little while. I fell asleep on the way home. It was a really fun weekend with Grandma. (Did I mention she bought me new clothes with Mommy?) I look forward to seeing her before she leaves for NY and then again when Mommy and visit NY in October. Happy Birthday to Auntie Michelle!

What a fun weekend! Grandma is awesome.

After seeing Grandma for a short time on Thursday, Mommy and Grandma picked me up early from Marine's house on Friday. Then we went to dinner at Applebee's for dinner. I had a cheeseburger (with applesauce instead of fries). Mommy forgot to ask for something other than fries, so I decided I wanted some of hers. But I did not want her to feel guilty about feeding me fries, so I picked the ones I wanted off her plate. Then I handed them to Grandma, and she gave them back to me to eat! See what I did there? It was Grandma's fault I had fries. She is SUPPOSED to spoil me. Tee hee! I did eat my burger (not much of the bun) and applesauce, so that was good. Then we went back to the hotel, and Mommy changed me and her into our swimsuits. Mommy put on my new life jacket, and we went swimming! I liked hanging on to Mommy. I let her push me around a bit while I floated, but what I really liked was having her lift me out of the pool and then I jump back in while she catches me! It was even okay if I went under at first before coming back up. We kept this up until I started shivering so badly in the cool evening air. Then we got changed back and hung out for a while until bedtime. Saturday, I spent most of the day with dad and Snickers (a boys day) while Mommy and Grandma hung out (a girls day). Mommy got her hair cut, picked up pictures of me from JCPenney (my 18 month portrait), got some new clothes, went and visited the library where she is the new branch supervisor, stopped at Java City, and then they went back home. Mommy packed clothes for her and me while I napped, and then she and Grandma went to church. Daddy, Snickers, and I met them there, and then we all went to Fresh Choice for dinner. Yum. I had lots of different foods. Grandma shared her ice cream with me. Then Mom, Grandma, and I went up to Great Aunt Regina's house. (to be continued)

Grandma is in town!

Grandma and Great Aunt Peg arrive today. I can't wait! Poor Mommy has to work the late shift, so Daddy is going to bring me and Grandma to her job for her lunch hour (which happens at dinnertime) while Great Aunt Peg drives to Great Aunt Regina's house. I can say "nooooooooooooooo" and pout very well. It makes Mommy laugh when I pout. She does not want to laugh, and she tries to hide it. But I know she does. Let's see what else. Oh, yeah. My cousin Patrick (not to be confused with Mommy's cousin Patrick although they are close in age) is a daddy. Evangeline was born on Tuesday. Wonder what her nickname will be because that is a mouthful. And here is another piece of news: Mommy got a promotion. She will be a supervisor. I think she will be good at it because she tells me what to do a lot. But she also says Please and Thank You and Good Job and Yea!!!!! a lot, and those are important things to do.

Playdoh is not tasty unless Mom says not to eat it

Marine just had me on Friday. She told Mommy that I played with Playdoh and loved it. So, when I was out running errands with Dad on Saturday, she was also running errands. She went to Target, and she bought me some Playdoh. On Sunday, we went to a pet-sitting job. Mom and I fed the kitties and fish and had all sorts of fun. I would not take a nap even though I was really tired when we got home. So Mom took me out to brunch with her friends. I was good for a while, and I let Mommy eat some of the scone she ordered. After a while though, I needed to get some fresh air. So we drove home, and I took my nap. Mommy mowed the lawn. After I got up, we played with the Playdoh. She showed me on the box where it says not to eat it, but I kept licking it anyway. It was fun watching Mommy trying to discourage me and trying to pretend it was no big deal. I love my Mommy. Not only because she loves me lots but because she gives me fruit cocktail and eats the grapes and cherries when I feed them to her.

I made my dad exercise

Normally, Daddy works on Thursdays, but the boss is making him work Friday so he had today off. Mommy needed coffee supplies especially since she also had to deal with "monthly" irritations, so Daddy, Mommy, Snickers, and I schlepped off to the Albertson's. I, of course, held Snickers' leash while Mommy pushed me in the stroller. Some of the time, Snickers was so excited that he pulled the stroller all by himself! Anyway, Mommy got her Starbuck's to get her started and then she got the creamer. I am in love with the little carousel by the store, and Mommy promised me that I could get a turn when we were on our way back to the house. So I picked out my horsie, Mommy put me on it, and she proudly inserted a quarter while saying "Ready, Conor?". Annnnnnnddddd, nothing. Nada. No music, no motion, nothing. "Oh, no!" thought Mommy because she hoped I would not cry as I motioned with my hand and said "uhhhh????" So, they checked that it was plugged in and everything. Mommy even vainly put another quarter in the machine! So Daddy had to manually move the horses around. Mommy tried to help, but she was singing the songs that the carousel plays. And laughing really hard because I was laughing really hard at watching Daddy huff and puff. That was fun. I fell in love with a swing at Ace Hardware. Then we went home and played a bit. Mommy helped me fall asleep for my nap before she left for work.

That's right

Today I was on my usual mini-walk in the morning. I found a little plastic toy and was carrying it around. Snickers was sniffing at a bush, and Mica was following at a safe distance as usual. I threw the toy into the street, and Mommy said to stay on the sidewalk and she would get the toy. So, as she handed me the toy, she said, "you threw the toy into the street, and now I am handing it back to you." It seemed like a very obvious thing to say, so I thought I would agree with her. I said "That's right" and kept playing. Mommy was stunned and thrilled at the same time!
