Welcome to My Blog

Location: Sacramento, California, United States

I am four years old and, so far, an only child, but I am not spoiled. I think. Mommy tells me that I am lucky because I have many people who love me both on the West Coast and the East Coast.

Double digits baby!

I am 10 months old today. No more single digit ages for me! I had my 10 month doctor appointment today. I weigh 19 lbs 14 oz (still!) and measure 28 inches long. I am still in the 50th percentile for height, but I dropped to 25th for weight. The doctor gave me a different antibiotic since she thinks the amoxicillin is not working like it should, and she also prescribed something for my raw little behind. I got to take another baking soda bath last night, and I played and played and played for hours! I just would not go to sleep even with my lullaby CD and nursing. Finally, I was put in my crib and I had to cry myself to sleep while Mommy just crashed in the other room.

The flight reservations for our trip to NY were all messed up, so Mommy had to call Delta and change it to something else--she is mad because it was all set and now she has to take another day off from work. At least it is back to changing planes only once. Grandma told her that even though the plane gets in at 11:30 pm, she will be there waiting to give me hugs and kisses. I'm gonna be so spoiled--woohoo!

Diaper rash hurts!

Oh my goodness! I have a HORRIBLE diaper rash! Mommy thought somebody poured boiling water over my private area when she saw it. I was crying and inconsolable, and she called the advice nurse. I got put in a baking soda bath which was kinda fun, and then I got to play with a naked butt for a while even though I should have been sleeping. It hurts so much that I woke Mommy and/or Daddy every 2 hours all night. Even nursing didn't help although Mommy and I tried to get that to work! I bet I will nap a lot at Karen's today.

Pumpkin pie rocks!

We went to Thunder Valley Casino, and the guy told Mommy that the wait was an hour to get seated for the buffet. So we waited in line only to be told that the wait from that point on was 2 hours! So we left. Hometown Buffet had a huge line, so we luckily ended up getting to JJ North's buffet during a temporary lull. I found out that I like stuffing and mashed potatoes are okay. But when Mommy put some pumpkin pie on my fork and handed it to me, I put it in my mouth and loved it! Mmmm-mmm! I take after Mommy that way.

The day after Thanksgiving Mommy put up the Christmas tree so she and Daddy could take pictures of me next to it for our Christmas cards this year. I was really cranky and I broke one of Mommy's ornaments (Daddy said it was okay since Mommy bought it with some other guy named Carl), but they got a picture they could agree upon.

I am started to stand unassisted for a few seconds at a time, and my new favorite game is to stand on my tiptoes, grab the bars of my crib as high as I can, and then I pick up my feet and swing.

I'm sick!

I have my first ear infection! I had so much wax in my ears that the doctor had to remove it before seeing that they were inflamed. I weigh 19 lbs 14 oz. I think I may manage to pump that up to an even 20 lbs after tomorrow (Thanksgiving). Since Daddy is also sick, we probably won't go to Aunt Rose's after all. Too long in the car. But I am feeling much better today with the antibiotics and Tylenol. So Mommy, traditionalist that she is, is insisting on getting turkey dinner out somewhere. She found out that the local Indian casino (do I get kickbacks for mentioning Thunder Valley by name??) is having a very nice buffet lunch. And they have a smoke-free slot machine room. We may spend a few minutes in there in hope of "Getting Thunderstruck!".

I see my friend Donovan's blog got all pimped up thanks to his Auntie Karen. You go, D! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Don't leave me Mommy!

I was really sick all weekend. I kept Mommy up all night with my whimpering--she tried so hard to make me feel better. I am finally feeling better today but I still have nose junk and post nasal drip making me sound like a frog. I gave my cold to Daddy yesterday, and Mommy says her throat is scratchy now.
I hate it when Mommy leaves me at Karen's although I really like it there. Karen told Mommy that she has to just drop me off and leave right away because I am getting so upset when she leaves that the other kids cry too. Mommy is going to cry now too. What can I say? It is just not good. Mommy is stressed out over Thanksgiving too. A 4 hour round trip to go to Aunt Rose's. Mommy told Daddy that if he and Uncle Mark get into a fight like usual that she is going to pack me up and go to the casino a mile down the road for the buffet dinner there. One month from today I will be eating lunch at Friendly's with Grandma and Grandpa. I think I will try the Fishamajig since Mommy says that the name makes her laugh.

Wah...don't feel good

Daddy called Mommy at work and said I feel very warm to him and that I am even fussier than usual. Well, they did give me a bath this morning to get the banana goo out of my hair. After I so artfully put it there. I do so love my Mommy, and I cry when she leaves me at daycare even though I like it at Karen's. I am so glad it is almost Friday because that means my mommy spends all day Saturday and Sunday with me. Mommy just wishes she could move at warp speed when I am napping so she can accomplish all the housework. The front yard needs raking since the Kwans have a biggggg tree that drops lots of leaves and their lazy lawn service people use a leaf blower to blow a lot of the leaves onto OUR lawn. Time to hit the sack!

Been a while...

It's been a while since I posted. Not too much is new. Mommy had last Friday off for the holiday. We went shopping! I got a new outfit on sale at Babies R Us. Then we went to Ross, and Mommy and Daddy had lots of fun looking at the board books (guess what I am getting for Christmas?). Then we went to the Borders. Mommy got a coffee and fed me Cheerios while Dad looked at books with Snickers. Then I was tired and hungry. Mommy looked for a spoon for my jarred food lunch. No spoon. So we went back to Babies R Us. Mommy took me to the Mommy's room, and I fell asleep on her boob. But I would wake the second she moved me, so she was a little stuck. When she finally decided to move me, she found Daddy asleep in a chair. So we bought spoons and a new bib that was on sale that I had my eye on. Then we went to Costco for diapers and such. As if I were not tired! So I cried and Mommy carried me while using my new (very fancy but I have to get used to it) stroller for a shopping cart. And I fell asleep in the car. Saturday was boring by comparison, but I still had lots of fun. Mommy started a new petsitting job that will last 2 weeks. I don't think I am going to like this, but she said that college is important and so she is working to save money for it. Something also about the magic of compound interest. Whatever. I want my Mommy! Sunday, we all went to a Healing Arts fair. There was a psychic lady there who talked to my doggie and then she and I had a conversation. Piggybacking on a reading Mommy had in June, I told her that I was my great-great-great uncle Michael in my last life. She told my dad that he and my doggie were together in a previous life too. Snickers told the lady to tell Daddy that he wants more brushing and more walks and he wants to go to the park at least once a week.
Today we are celebrating Karen's birthday with cake. I can't wait, but I have to keep it secret until Maggie's and Logan's moms get there.

My first word

Well, I did it folks. On Saturday, I crawled over to Daddy, pulled myself up on his pantleg, looked up at him and said "Dada". He didn't hear me, but he saw Mommy's face. Then he read her lips to see what happened and he picked me up and hugged me hard.

I also ate and slept better than I usually do at home. I guess I am giving Mommy a break especially since she hoped "Mama" would be my first word. Although I do call out "Mamamamamama" when I am in my bed and don't want to be.

Believe it or not, folks, my dog is getting very jealous of the time and attention I get from Mom and Dad. It is all of a sudden, and Mom and Dad are puzzled by it. After I snuggled with Mom and went to bed, my doggie jumped up in her lap and wanted to be snuggled the same way. At least that is what I was told since I had already gone to bed. Hmmm...Grandma also wants me to write out a Christmas list. Time to peruse Toys R Us catalog!

I want my Mommy to quit her job.

My mommy is spending a lot of time away from me, and I don't like it a bit. I tell her all the time and cry and reach for her. I think she also wants to be with me, but she leaves anyway. It sucks. Wahhhhh.....
